Career Summary:

Shortly after joining 3M Lloyd was responsible for Production Planning Scheduling and Production Control.  3M is a large multi national company manufacturing and marketing an extensive range of consumer and industrial products.  When the organisation moved to develop an “in house” Computerised Finished Goods Inventory Management System, Lloyd became the project leader with the unenviable title of Manufacturing Data Processing Systems Manager. The objective of this function was to ensure the requirements of manufacturing, distribution and warehouse management were successfully co-ordinated with the DP analysis and programming team.

He subsequently became the Corporate Inventory Manager responsible for operating the system and for managing the total company inventory. In time this function was integrated with Customer Service to create the Distribution Management function.  In this Inventory Management career the company achieved its inventory target for the 1st and 2nd time in 15 years.

To understand and better appreciate the Sales organisation, Lloyd accepted a position as Sales Specialist for Document Management Systems.  An exciting aspect of this challenge was converting a run down sales territory from 40% achievement into 105% achievement in the 1st year and 290% achievement in the 3rd year.

Professional Activities:

As founding Education Coordinator for NSW Chapter of Australian Production and Inventory Control Society, Lloyd initiated the very successful Certification Education program and pioneered education initiatives in a number of directions as well as serving as the Societies President on two occasions.

Lloyd has led a variety of seminars, workshops and education programs for the APICS organisation as well as UTS and the Institute of Administration Business at UNSW. Lloyd established Demand Management Systems Pty Limited to provide consulting, education and marketing services for Forecasting and Demand Planning software solutions.
