Building Intelligent Solutions 2008 Asia Conference

This year the annual Asian conference was held in the glorious tropical location of Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The event was attended by a variety of organisations, from various nations, generating an international perspective to the event.

Location …

The Cyberview Lodge and Spa is set in lush tropical surroundings, with fine dining and excellent facilities. This location provided an ideal environment in which to focus on some of the latest developments in Demand Management. When the day’s work was complete, attendees were able to relax by the pool, enjoy the facilities, or even indulge in a massage at the SPA.

Presentations & Workshops…

The DMS team covered subjects such as “Options for Managing New Items”, “Automating the Forecasting Process” and “Effective Management of the Planning Process”.

Once again the big hit was the workshop environment, where delegates operated laptops to interact with the software. These same workshops had been valuable additions in 2008 at the USA and Australia conferences.

Workshop topics included:

“How to Maximize Customer Service Dependent upon Demand Variability” (review of the Service Level Optimizer function)
“How to ensure forecast Adjustments are adding Value to the Business” (innovative way to utilize the Performance analysis option and review the results of Forecast Adjustments with the System Forecast on the History display screen).

Something Different …

A trademark of a Demand Solutions conference is the “time out” to take part in some fun activities, and this event was no exception. The attendees also enjoyed the “Totem” challenge.
